Than the birth of a baby girl or boy?
Tiny feet with tiny toes,
Delicate shell ears
And button nose.
Nascent bud;
Tiny bundle
Of promise and love.
When I see you,
Small and fragile
In your tiny bed;
A drumroll builds inside my head
And bursts in my heart;
A crescendo
Of love and hope
And joy.
When I hold you
In my arms,
You play a lullaby
On the chords of my heart;
My soul calms
And my love hums
The perfect berceuse,
Better than Brahms,
To right my Universe.
